About Me |
|
Hi, my name is Rick Curtright and it is my privilege to make this introduction. I was born in Rapid City, South Dakota. My Father was an Air Force career soldier and my mother a domestic engineer. I have two brothers, Steve and Gary, and together we traveled the world before setting down in St. Charles. There were some disadvantages to being a "military brat"; we never stayed put long enough to feel settled. On the up side, I was given the opportunity to travel and experience many different cultures during my informative years. Our travels were instrumental in molding me into the person I am today; outgoing, friendly, and eager to make new friends. I've always been somewhat of an entertainer and grew up dreaming of taking center stage. I began studying guitar while living in Okinawa at the age of 11. There I learned the basics of reading sheet music and gained an appreciation for classical style guitar. Over the years I've learned the value of many styles of music. Any song ever written delivers a message, and when I hear one that speaks to me, I keep it and make it mine. Combining only the sounds of my guitar and voice, the music I play is enjoyable to listen to and is always my pleasure to perform. Today I play at a variety of venues; Wineries, Bars, Restaurants, Weddings, & Private Parties...no concert halls yet. Although I enjoy playing my "original" creations; I primarily perform cover tunes from the 70's, 80's & 90's featuring such artist as The Eagles, Cat Stevens, Jim Croche, Jimmy Buffet, Harry Chapin, and Eric Clapton to name a few. I keep my show upbeat, encourage audience participation, and always take request. My goal; to try and make each of my performances one you'll enjoy & remember. Thanks for visiting my web page. I look forward to seeing you soon and as always, I thank you for your support.
